New Part-time Top-up Degree Programme: BA (Hons) Metalwork and Jewellery

We are pleased to announce that a NEW top-up degree programme, BA (Hons) Metalwork and Jewellery will be jointly offered by SHAPE and Sheffield Hallam University in January 2013. This programme aims to enable students to develop their comprehensive understanding of the scope and demands of the practice of Metalwork and Jewellery. It will provide a strong grounding in both traditional hand skills and evolving modern technologies. The underlying focus of the programme is on creative practice in the demanding vocation of Metalwork and Jewellery. In addition, it will provide an opportunity to develop students' potential as creative practitioner and prepare them for a subsequent career within Metlwork and Jewellery and other closely associated design discipline.

We are pleased to announce that a NEW top-up degree programme, Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) will be jointly offered by SHAPE and RMIT University in January 2013. This programme aims to nurture professional engineers who could apply knowledge of materials, structures, energy and management to solve real-life technical problems. The work of mechanical engineers involves design and development of products as diverse as home appliances, industrial equipment, energy and transportation systems. Building on students' knowledge in mechanical engineering and engineering science from their prior studies, the programme aims to further develop their competence in analytical problem-solving abilities, reinforce their self-initiative and leadership potential, and enhance their sense of responsibility and accountability.

New Full-time Top-up Degree Programme: BSc (Hons) in Statistical Analysis/ BSc in Statistical Analysis

We are pleased to announce that a NEW top-up degree programme, BSc (Hons) in Statistical Analysis/ BSc in Statistical Analysis will be jointly offered by SHAPE and the Open University of Hong Kong in AY2012/13. This programme aims to provide university-level training to students to enable them to develop an understanding on statistical data analysis; quantitative skills; and mathematics techniques for investment science, quantitative analysis and financial modelling. Graduates of this programme will have the competence to take up jobs in marketing research, financial sectors, decision support systems, supply chain management, quality control, statistical agencies, and government.

Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and Infrastructure) has been granted "Provisional Accreditation" Status

We are pleased to announce that Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and Infrastructure) Programme offered by SHAPE in collaboration with RMIT University has been granted "Provisional Accreditation" status by both Engineers Australia (EA) and the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) in March and May 2012 respectively.

This programme prepares graduates to work as civil and infrastructure engineers who are responsible for planning, constructing, supervising, managing and maintaining the essential infrastructure of the community. Graduates are capable of working on multidisciplinary projects in order to maximize the social, economic and environmental benefits, adapting the environment and using nature's resources for the benefit of the community.
