Northumbria University

Named University of the Year 2022 in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Awards, Northumbria’s win marks its remarkable transformation into the UK’s first research‑intensive modern university.  Northumbria is a business‑focused, professional institution with academic excellence at its core. Results from the Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021) show that Northumbria achieved the biggest rise in research power of any UK university.
Northumbria University has also been recognised as one of the top universities in the UK, receiving the title of Modern University of the Year 2025 from The Times and The Sunday Times. Additionally, it is ranked 37th in the UK by the Complete University Guide 2026 and is listed among the Top 100 Young Universities in the Times Higher Education 2024 rankings.

Truly an international university, Northumbria has over 25 years of experience working with education partners outside the UK and a community of more than 37,000 students from 137 countries. Northumbria is part of an elite group of business schools worldwide, holding accreditation in both business and accounting from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) — the first institution in Europe to achieve this double accreditation.

Pursuing new thinking, new partnerships, and new knowledge, Northumbria University is ready to take on tomorrow.
